Why did you choose your major（1）

I major in business administration. The reasons why I chose my major are multiphase. In reality, I don’t think that I chose my major because I was interested in business administration. On account of external occasion rather than my interest, I made up my mind to select business administration as my major at that time. I will explain my motives in detail as follows.

First, I obeyed my parents’ suggestion and desire so as not to make them disappointed. This is the chief cause that I chose my major. Both my parents expected me to study in business administration; hence, I followed their anticipation instead of persisting in my opinion. As a matter of fact, I believe that my parents’ decisions as well as advice are good for me. They own much more job experiences than I own. They realize the situation of workplace deeply; on the contrary, I know little about the workplace of society. I think that they make any determination for my sake. They hope that I could face less difficulty in the future. Due to all the reasons, I chose my major eventually.

Second, I considered what my job will be in the future. According to many people’s suggestion, those whose major is business administration might have even more opportunities of work. For example, they could work in banks, enterprises or government organs. In addition, they may be professors in business administration department in college. There are a large number of choices in spite that there are a great number of competitors. Although I have no confidence in myself to compete with those whose major are the same as me, I will try my best to strengthen my competitive ability.
